MDA
MDA
3,4- methylenedioxyamphetamine, as well as 1- (1-3-benzodixol-5-yl)-2-propamine is a synthetic amphetamine derivative, sometimes sold as ecstasy, most commonly in combination with MDMA and rarely in pure state.
Effects: The effect is stronger, but less "magical" from those by extasy. MDA is less hallucinogenic. The on-set effect is after 30-40-min, and the effect duration is about 8-12h. The trip is 4-5h. There are several other effects like
extreme mood lift
increased willingness to communicate
increase in energy (stimulation)
feelings of comfort, belonging, and closeness to others
feelings of love and empathy
sensations bright and intense
urge to hug and kiss people
Risks and secondary effects:
nausea
vomiting
mouth dryness,
jaw clenching
sweating
bad coordination
sleep disturbance and convulsions.
Under effect people may create inappropriate and/or unintended emotional bonding or say things they might feel uncomfortable about later. They can experience difficulty concentrating and problems with short-term memory. Headache and dizziness as well. There's a risk of moderately increased body temperature, dehydratation and over-heating (hyperthermia). After using there's a chance of unpleasant feelings similar to hangover, lasting days-to weeks. Although there are no reports enough or physical addiction, there's a possibility of strong urge to repeat the experience. Possible mild depression and fatigue for up to a week, which could transform into severe forms.
Long-term risks: MDA is simultaneously neurotoxin and liver toxic. In a case of constant use there are possible symptoms similar to schizophrenia. Some people may be exposed to a risk of psychotic crisis (psychotic episodes, severe panic attacks), which may require hospitalization.
