What does the user feel?

The effects of DMT are similar to those of LSD, but much more intensive – phantasms, auditory and visual hallucinations, distorted or lost awareness for time and space, changed sensation for identity. The duration varies according to dosage and way of ingestion. When smoked the effects begin in the first minute, reaching climax in the next 3-25 minutes, and its whole duration is between 6 and 20 minutes. Some people experience additional period of 1-2 hours before effects have completely faded. When sniffed it needs about 10-15 minutes for sensing the initial light effects.

Most commonly users report experiences of dipping under water, intensive visual hallucinations of strange colourful shapes and patterns (like kaleidoscope), furious onrush of feelings, drastic change of perspective, deep spiritual experiences.
