Who we are

Bulgarian National Drugs, Alcohol and Gambling Helpline

The Bulgarian National Drugs, Alcohol and Gambling Helpline (NDAGH) was established in 2008 by Solidarnost Association for Rehabilitation of Addicted People (https://www.solidarnost-bg.org/) under a project financed until 2010 by the MATRA program of The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands.

The Bulgarian National Drugs, Alcohol and Gambling Helpline is a member of FESAT (The European Foundation of Drug Helplines), along with about 50 other Drug Helplines in Europe.

NDAGH is the first service of its kind in Bulgaria, designed to provide to the whole of society extensive and reliable information on the types of psychoactive substances, effects and risks of drug and alcohol use, problem gambling, and on the methods for their treatment, rehabilitation centers in the country, as well as guidance for parents, relatives and teachers.

Solidarnost Association

Solidarnost Association is a nonprofit organization in public interest founded in 2006 which mission is:

  • the rehabilitation and social integration of addicted people so that they can lead an autonomous life;
  • to provide support and advice to the parents and the relatives of addicted people;
  • to disseminate information and carry out advisory work, promoting the cause of Solidarnost and influencing attitudes towards addicted people.

Solidarnost is a member of the European Federation of Therapeutic Communities (EFTC), the European network for training professionals’ European companionship in education, training by travel (Ecett), and the National Patient's Organization (NPO).
